Emerald's Tent

Her tent is simple. Colored pieces of cloth serve for a floor. A small low to the ground table is to your right with four chairs around it. There is a simple brown cupboard and a pile of more colored cloth against the tent wall. A very small fire pit with a black pot hanging over it is in a corner. The matress is in the left hand corner right next to the entrance of this tent. Two curtains provide as a wall and door for two rooms. Their contents unknown. The walls of the tent are blue, green and yellow.

You finally notice the girl is looking at you. Her eyes startle you. They are of the deepest green. All most like emerald's. She wears a light blue cotton blouse and a purple shawl lined in gold around her waist. Her skirt is of a darker purple. A large gold hoop earing hangs from her right ear. Her hair is black as night.

Sit down and watch. You may learn something.

She says. You sit next to the flute player and watch as the
girl weaves a tale. A tale of music, song, and dance.

The girl starts to dance and sings,
I have seen many things both horrible and freighting.
Love is like that also.
A boy falls in love with a girl and then quickly decides he’s not.
For the girl it is to late.
And all ready she’s in love and again for her the cycle begins...
If you asked me love is horrible it turns deep souls into fiery pits and breaks the deepest friendship’s.
Why?
Why must love take place
I’ve seen so many good things above
It breaks the heart and vanquishes the mind it’s worse than hate.
Her eyes light up and they are now a bright green.
She dances to the musical interlude. Then sings...
Do you see why?
Why I can never love
I’m afraid of a broken heart and of a life of death
She sits on the mattress and asks, Are you confused by my riddle? Don’t worry. In time my tale shall be unraveled. Emerald smiles.
